Location notifications
Location notifications turn your wallet pass into a gentle nudge at the right moment. When a customer who has your pass in Apple Wallet is near one of your stores, their iPhone shows a notification on the lock screen with a message you choose. It's a simple way to remind people to scan their pass, use their balance, or just come in.
How it works
You add one or more locations to a pass. Each location is a point on the map (latitude and longitude) plus the text to show in the notification. When the customer's phone is near that point, it shows your message.
Location notifications are available on Apple Wallet passes.
Add a location
- Open Wallet Passes.
- Click New to start a new pass, or click Edit on the pass you want to change.
- Scroll to the Locations section.
- Click Add Location. A new block appears, labeled Location 1, Location 2, and so on.
- Fill in the fields (see the table below).
- Click Save in the save bar at the top of the page.
Repeat for every store you want to cover. There is no set number — add as many locations as you have stores.
Location settings

| Latitude | The north–south coordinate of the location, in decimal format (for example 40.7128). |
| Longitude | The east–west coordinate of the location, in decimal format (for example -74.0060). Locations in the Americas have a negative longitude. |
Enter the coordinates by hand for each store. Most map apps show a place's coordinates when you look up its address. Copy them as decimal numbers with a dot, not degrees and minutes.
Remove a location
- In the Locations section, find the location you want to remove.
- Click the trash icon next to its heading.
- Click Save.
To change a location instead, edit its fields and click Save. Click Discard in the save bar if you want to go back to the last saved version.
