Subscription box

The subscription box turns a paid membership into a recurring product box. Each billing cycle, members receive the included products you've scheduled — free for that cycle. They can swap those products for items from collections you choose, and add paid products from your catalog to their next renewal.

Turn on the subscription box

1. Open Loyalty in the left navigation.
2. In the VIP Tiers section, click your paid membership.
3. Select the Subscription box tab.
4. Turn on the Subscription box checkbox.
5. Set up the schedule and options below, then click Save.

Exclusive product schedule

The schedule decides which included products are active over time. Each entry starts at a date you set and stays active until the next entry begins. Included products are free for the billing cycle in which their entry is active.

To build the schedule, click Add schedule entry and fill in each row:

A few rules keep the schedule valid:

• Each entry needs its own Starts at — no two entries can share a start time.
• Each entry must include at least as many variants as your Included products per box number, so every member can fill their box.
• Give back-to-back entries different products — consecutive entries can't repeat the same variant.

Click the trash icon on a row to remove a schedule entry.

Every renewal needs an active entry on its billing date, so set the first entry's Starts at on or before your members' earliest renewal. From then on there's always an active entry, because each one stays active until the next begins.

Scheduled billing

By default, renewals follow the membership's billing frequency. Turn on Use scheduled subscription box billing to charge each renewal at the Billing at date on your schedule entries instead.

To use scheduled billing, set the membership up with exactly one recurring frequency (Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually) and turn off its trial. While scheduled billing is on:

• The other frequency options stay locked, so the schedule has one clear billing plan.
• Align Billing to First of Month turns off — your schedule controls the billing dates.
• Every schedule entry needs a Billing at date.

Each Billing at date must fall after its own entry's Starts at and before the next entry's Starts at, and no two entries can share a billing time.

What members see in the wallet

In their wallet, under Manage Membership, members see a My Next Box section with the next renewal date, the included products for that cycle, and any paid products they've added. Manage Membership is a button you add to the wallet yourself (see "Where members manage their membership" in Paid membership billing). In My Next Box, Manage opens the box:

• Swap appears on an included product when the active entry offers more than one variant or you've set swap collections. It opens Choose included product, where the member picks exactly the number of products set in Included products per box from the entry's variants and your swap collections, then clicks Confirm.
• Browse products lets members search your full catalog and add paid products to their next renewal ("No charge today; added to your next renewal."). They can change quantities or remove these products until the renewal, and they're charged with it.

Right before each renewal is charged, Toki places the member's current selection into the renewal order. Until then, members can change it:

• With scheduled billing on, swapping is open from the entry's Starts at until its Billing at. After that, the included product shows "Swap available on [date]", the next entry's Starts at.
• Without scheduled billing, members can change their selection at any time before the renewal is charged.
