Membership add-ons
Add-ons are optional services customers can add to a paid membership — think gift wrapping, priority support, or an extra product drop. Each add-on is its own product in your Shopify store, priced per billing frequency alongside the membership itself.
Turn on add-ons
- Open Loyalty in the left navigation.
- In the VIP Tiers section, click your paid membership.
- Select the Membership Add-ons tab.
- Turn on the Membership Add-ons switch. Your first add-on card appears automatically.
- Fill in the add-on details, then click Save.
Click Add Add-on to offer more than one. Customers see each active add-on as an optional extra for the membership.
Add-on settings
Each add-on card has these fields:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add-on Name | The add-on product name shown to customers. Required. |
| Add-on Description | Additional details about this add-on. |
| Status | Set to Active when the add-on is ready for customers, or keep it in Draft while you work on it. |
Once saved, the card also shows the add-on's product in your Shopify store, so you can open it in the Shopify admin.
Pricing per frequency
Add-ons follow the billing frequencies of the base membership. If your membership sells Monthly and Annually, you set a Monthly and an Annually price for every add-on. Turn on at least one billing frequency on the base membership to configure add-on pricing.
For each enabled frequency you set:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Price | What the customer pays for this add-on at that membership frequency. |
| Tracking: tags | Tags added to the customer's profile in Shopify. Separate multiple tags with commas. |
Trials
If a frequency on the base membership includes a trial, the add-on follows the same trial Duration automatically. You choose the add-on's First Payment — the price for the add-on's first payment during the trial (0 by default).
Remove an add-on
Open the add-on card and click Remove This Add-on, then click Save.
