Billing and plans
Your Toki subscription lives on the Billing page inside the Toki app. It shows every plan available to your store, which one you're on, and what each plan includes. Plans are billed through Shopify, so you approve each charge in your Shopify admin.
This article is about your store's Toki subscription. For how your customers pay for paid memberships, see Paid membership billing and cancellation.
Open the Billing page
In the Toki app, open Billing in the left navigation. The page is titled Billing Settings.
What's on the page
Each plan appears as a card:
| Part of the card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Plan name | The name of the plan, at the top of the card. |
| Price | The monthly price in US dollars. Plans with no monthly fee show Free. |
| Description | A short note under the price, when the plan has one. |
| What's included | The features that come with the plan. |
| Subscribe or Unsubscribe | Unsubscribe appears on the plan you're currently on. Every other plan shows Subscribe. |
The cards always show the current plans, prices, and included features for your store, so check the Billing page rather than an older screenshot or email.
If more than one Toki product is available to your store, tabs at the top of the page let you switch between them. Each product has its own set of plans.
Subscribe to a plan
- Open Billing.
- If you see tabs at the top of the page, pick the product you want.
- On the plan you want, click Subscribe.
- Shopify's approval page opens in a new tab. Review the charge and approve it.
- Shopify returns you to the Billing page. The page checks for your new subscription every few seconds, so your plan shows Unsubscribe shortly after you approve. That means it's active.
To move to a different plan, click Subscribe on that plan and approve the new charge in Shopify. You don't need to unsubscribe first: once you approve the new charge, the new subscription replaces your current one.
Cancel a plan
- Open Billing.
- On your current plan, click Unsubscribe.
- In the Unsubscribe dialog, click Unsubscribe to confirm. Click Cancel to keep your plan.
Your plan ends right away: Toki cancels the subscription with Shopify immediately and asks Shopify to credit the unused part of your current billing period. From that moment, features that come with paid plans show the Upgrade Required prompt when you open them (see below) until you subscribe again.
Free trial notice
Paid plans come with a 14-day free trial. The 14 days count from your first subscription, so switching plans doesn't restart them. While the trial runs, a notice at the top of the Billing page shows how many trial days are left and the date the trial ends.
Stores with high order volume
If your store processes a high volume of orders, a notice above the plan cards shows the monthly order number above which our Enterprise plan is the right fit. Click the link in the notice to book a call, or use Chat with us at the bottom of the page and we'll set it up with you.
Features that need a higher plan
Toki's free plan covers the essentials of a loyalty program. Advanced features come with paid plans, and each plan card lists exactly what it includes.
When you open a feature that isn't part of your plan, Toki shows an Upgrade Required prompt: "To access this feature, you need to upgrade your billing plan."
- Click Upgrade Now to go to the Billing page and pick a plan that includes the feature.
- Click Close to go back.
You can upgrade at any time.
