Redeem for a member
Sometimes you redeem for a customer instead of waiting for them to do it: on the phone, at the counter, or when they ask for help. The Redemptions dialog on a member's profile lets you do what the member would do in their wallet. Turn an amount of their balance into a discount code, or generate the code for a perk their tier unlocks. The code is ready to hand over right away.
Open the Redemptions dialog
- In the Toki app, click Members in the left navigation.
- Click the member's row to open their profile. See Members directory for search and filters.
- Choose More actions → Redemptions in the top right, or click the discount icon on the Store Credit card.
The dialog has up to three sections. Membership perks and Unused discounts only appear when the member has some.
| Section | What it does |
|---|---|
| Balance | Turn an amount of the member's balance into a new discount code. |
| Membership perks | Generate the discount code for a perk from the member's tier. |
| Unused discounts | See every code the member holds but has not used yet. |
Click Close when you are done.
Turn balance into a discount code
The first section is labeled Balance, followed by the member's balance in your store currency. This is what their points are worth today.
- Enter the discount value in your store currency. The field shows your currency symbol, and you can enter decimals, like 12.50.
- Click Generate discount.
- The new code appears below the field. Copy it and give it to the customer.
Toki converts the amount into points at your store credit's conversion rate and deducts them from the member's balance. The Balance figure updates right away, and the new code is listed under Unused discounts until the member uses it. You can generate more than one code in a row; each one is added to the list.
Notes under the amount field
Depending on your redemption settings, one or more notes appear under the field:
| Note | What it means |
|---|---|
| Please note this discount requires a minimum cart spend of … | The customer's cart has to reach this amount for the code to apply at checkout. Mention it when you hand over the code. |
| Min to spend | The smallest discount you can generate. Smaller amounts are not accepted. |
| Max to spend | The largest discount you can generate in one code. Larger amounts are not accepted. |
These come from your Minimum cart spend, Min discount possible, and Max discount possible settings. If you run more than one redemption rule, the dialog uses the rule that applies to this member and store, so a VIP can see different limits than a new customer. To change the limits, open Loyalty, scroll to the Redemption rules section, pick the rule, and edit its Discount code redemption settings.
Redeem a membership perk
Membership perks lists the discount perks the member's current tier unlocks: percentage discounts, fixed-amount discounts, and free shipping. Each row starts with the tier name, then describes the perk.
- Click Generate next to the perk.
- The code appears under the perk name. Copy it and give it to the customer.
Generating a perk does not deduct anything from the member's balance. The perk itself is what gets used. See Membership rewards for how tier perks are set up.
Check unused discounts
Unused discounts lists every code the member holds but has not used yet, whatever it came from: balance redemptions, rewards, or perks. Each entry shows:
- The discount value, for example 10%, $5, or Free Shipping. Custom rewards show their name instead.
- The code itself.
- Expires: with the date and time, in red, when the code has an expiry date.
This is the quickest answer to "what discounts do I have?" or "I lost my code." Read the code to the customer or copy it for them.
