Create your first reward with the onboarding wizard

The Rewards Onboarding wizard walks you through creating your first reward in four short steps. You pick a starter reward, decide how it looks to customers, set what they receive, and publish it. Everything you set up here can be edited later.

Use the save bar at the top to move through the wizard: select Next to advance, and Create at the end to save your reward. You can also select any step label to move between steps. The Home button in the top left takes you back to your Toki home page.

Step 1: Select reward

Pick one of three starter rewards. Select the card you want to begin with — the wizard moves you to the next step automatically.

StarterWhat customers earn
Points for purchaseStore credit for making purchases — for example, 10 points for every $1 spent.
Twitter: Like PostStore credit for liking your post.
Refer a friend to purchaseStore credit when someone they refer makes a purchase.

If you change your mind, go back to step 1 and pick a different starter. The later steps refresh with fresh defaults for that reward type, so review them again before you finish.

These three are starting points. You can create many other reward types from the full catalog — see Reward types.

Step 2: Customize view

This step controls how the reward appears to your customers.

FieldWhat it does
NameShown in the wallet and in the on-site activities component.
DescriptionShown when a customer opens the reward in the wallet. A good place for any extra terms. Find it under More details about the activity.
ImageShown in the wallet. Recommended size: 200 x 200 px. Also under More details about the activity.

Step 3: Customize reward details

Set what customers receive when they complete the reward. The wizard keeps this step focused on the essentials. For the full set of options, edit the reward later or create one from the full reward editor — see Creating rewards.

Final step: Enter additional reward details

The last step covers when the reward is live and how completions are handled.

CardWhat it controls
StatusChoose Active to make the reward live, or Draft to keep working on it.
RulesThe reward's parameters — the conditions of the activity itself.
ApprovalWhether completions are approved automatically. Check Automatically approve the activity to skip manual review, and Prevent re-submissions to stop customers from resubmitting after a denial.

For more on how approvals work, see Approvals.

Finish and create

  1. Select Next on the final step. The wizard shows a summary screen confirming you're almost done.
  2. Select Create in the save bar. Toki saves the reward, shows a Saved confirmation, and opens your new reward so you can review it.
  3. Want to go back instead? Select any earlier step to make changes before you create.

The summary screen also links to the other types of rewards you can create, so your first reward doesn't have to be your last.

If something needs fixing

If a required field is empty or a value doesn't fit, a banner appears: "Please fix the errors in the form before continuing." Select Check errors in the banner to jump back into the steps and correct the highlighted fields, then continue as usual.
