POS Authentication via Referral QR Code

POS Authentication via Referral QR Code

Customers can now authenticate at your point-of-sale system by scanning their personal referral QR code instead of providing email or customer ID.

How It Works

When customers view their referral link in your loyalty program (link with ?tkr= code), that same link can be scanned at POS:

  1. Staff scans customer's referral QR code or enters referral code
  2. System extracts referral code and identifies the customer
  3. Automatically logs them in to access loyalty rewards, points, and perks

Supports both direct referral codes and discount codes associated with referrals.

Benefits

  • Faster checkout: No need to provide email or phone number—just show QR code
  • Always accessible: Customers already have referral link handy (saved in wallet or messages for sharing)
  • No separate card needed: Eliminates need for separate loyalty pass or remembering account details
  • Dual purpose: One QR code for both sharing with friends AND authenticating at checkout

Important Note

This feature is optional and must be enabled in Apple Wallet settings. Since referral codes are designed to be shared publicly, they're less secure than other authentication methods.

Perfect for creating a seamless in-store loyalty experience with minimal friction at checkout.
